Sainte Marguerite Island: a corner of paradise

Sainte-Marguerite, the largest of the Lérins islands, is a veritable Eden.

Between secret coves and a state-owned forest of pine and eucalyptus, it offers an enchanting setting. With its 22 km of trails, it stretches over 3 km, from the Etang du Batéguier ornithological reserve to the Pointe de la Convention. The island is also home to archaeological remains and Fort Royal, which houses the Iron Mask and Fort Royal Museum.

Since 2021, monumental statues by British artist Jason de Caires Taylor, molded from the faces of six Cannes residents, have been submerged near the shore of Sainte-Marguerite Island, forming the first underwater ecomuseum in France and the Mediterranean. An ideal place for sports and family activities!

Discover the island of Saint-Honorat

Saint-Honorat, the smaller of the two Lérins islands, is a place steeped in history. It was here, in the 5th century, that Saint-Honorat founded a spiritual center that greatly contributed to the spread of Christian doctrine throughout the Western world.

The island is home to a fortified monastery open to the public. Today, the current monastery, whose construction began in 1863, is home to a community of Cistercian monks. A must-see during your stay!
